While its certainly not a major player in the podcasting space as of yet, Pandora has launched a cool new tool that certainly won’t hurt. But perhaps we should be asking, “Where’s My Podcast?”
A few special Pandora listeners can now control the app simply by using their voice. For Voice Mode, Pandora has partnered with SoundHound’s Houndify voice and conversational AI platform. Pandora started rolling out access to Voice Mode to select listeners on Tuesday. The company says availability for all mobile users is coming soon.
Much like Google’s Home and Amazon’s Alexa, by saying the wake phrase “Hey Pandora” followed by a request, users can control their listening experience by just speaking naturally.
Unlike Apple where you can find almost every podcast ever created, we’re still not quite sure what you can find on Pandora. We submitted a podcast several months ago and never heard back from them.
