Dan Morris grew up listening to Paul Harvey and, on Sunday, he’d make sure to watch Charles Kuralt’s story. “As I grew older I longed for those shows, those stories that just made you think. And so he decided to create a podcast in that vein, a tribute to that level of storytelling. He launched Tracing The Path.

Dan says Tracing the Path contains stories you may not know about. “It’s mostly things that happened in the 20th century but I always include the events that led to the events.”

He wants other people to have that moment where they arrive at their destination but wait in their car for 5 minutes to hear the end of the story. “I loved that feeling. I loved thinking I might be late for the meeting, but that was totally worth it.”

And writing the stories is very rewarding and fun for Dan.

What are Dan’s goals with the new podcast? “I’d love for it to be turned into a book that becomes a NYT Best Seller. And I’d love to turn it into a curriculum for homeschoolers.

He says his ideas for the podcast can come from anywhere. “Just the other day my son said “Did you know the sister of the Wright Bros was really the brain behind the plane?” So I’ll be researching that story to see if there’s enough connections to be podcast worthy. Once I get an idea, then the internet is my playground. I search far and wide. I’m very good with Boolean search language so I can find just about anything online.

Dan’s goal is to get 3 more episodes done and do an official launch in March with 15 episodes live.
