CNET says that Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History has released its first new episode since November of 2020 about the Pacific Theater of World War II. The five-hour and 45-minute history lesson is called “Supernova in the East VI.”
Since launching the show in 2006, Carlin has released episodes irregularly on his schedule that have become longer and longer and often top “best podcast” rankings and charts.
Here’s his summation of this episode: “When do spirit, tenacity, resilience and bravery cross into madness? When cities are incinerated? When suicide attacks become the norm? When atomic weapons are used? Japan’s leaders test the limits of national endurance in the war’s last year.”
