Crooked Media, the company behind Pod Save America, has announced a slate of four new original shows planned for this Spring and Summer.

The new shows include Hall of Shame, with Rachel Bonetta and Rachna Fruchbom, a comedy show about some of the biggest and strangest scandals in sports history; Unholier Than Thou, in which Phillip Picardi explores faith and spirituality, writer and critic Damon Young’s weekly series about life as a black man in America and Prisoner, the dramatic first-person account of Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian’s 18-month detention in Iran during the Iran nuclear deal negotiations in 2015.

Here are all the details from the Crooked Media press release…

Hall of Shame Hosts: Rachel Bonnetta (Host, LOCK IT IN on Fox Sports) and Rachna Fruchbom (Writer/Producer, Parks & Recreation, Fresh off the Boat) Launch: Launching in March 2020 with new episodes on Monday each week In this new weekly podcast, hosts Rachel Bonnetta and Rachna Fruchbom walk   through some of the biggest scandals in sports history to discover the humanity behind the headlines, from the thrill of Dock Ellis’ no-hitter to the agony of Rosie Ruiz’s marathon lies. With humor and a healthy dose of perspective, they get to the bottom of what exactly went down, why these stories matter, and how they’re still relevant today. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll feel more invested in sports than you ever thought possible.

Unholier Than Thou Host: Phillip Picardi (Journalist/Editor, Former Editor in Chief of OUT Magazine) Launch: Launching in April 2020 with new episodes each Friday The Lord works his way into conversation in mysterious ways in Unholier Than Thou, a new weekly podcast from host Philip Picardi. With the help of the spiritual, religious, and agnostic, Picardi will guide listeners through the ethereal and worldly problems of the day, informed by his own on-and-off relationship with God. Through lenses both saintly and secular, we’ll take a look at everything from sex to climate change, and how religion informs those discussions (whether we know it or not).

Untitled Damon Young Project Host: Damon Young Launch: Launching in May 2020 with new episodes every Thursday From Damon Young, author of the award-winning memoir in essays What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Blacker and the founder/editor-in-chief of race and culture site VerySmartBrothas comes a new weekly podcast. Young will explore and deconstruct the anxiety, vulnerability, angst, and never-ending absurdity of existing while black in America, and how race and racism impacts sex, money, parenthood, personhood, death and everything in-between. Each week, he’ll speak with cultural figures to help break down these topics.

Prisoner Host: Jason Rezaian Launch: Summer 2020 Washington Post Tehran bureau chief Jason Rezaian was arrested by Iranian police in July 2014. As his eighteen-month imprisonment unfolded, it became clear that he was being held hostage as a bargaining chip in a much bigger geopolitical struggle between the US and Iran. This special limited series podcast, like his book of the same title, will delve into what happens outside the prison cell as well as inside it. Jason’s personal narrative as the child of Iranian immigrants, his love story with his wife, and his brother’s Herculean efforts back in America – these stories all become part of the fabric of a larger political strategy to save one man’s life. Prisoner will feature never before heard interviews with Anthony Bourdain, John Kerry, and key diplomats, in addition to Jason’s own family.
