Yes, podcasts should be worried about not having transcripts. Firstly, accessibility. Not having a transcript the hard-of-hearing and deaf communities are excluded from being able to listen. A full transcript will enable them to read your podcast episode. Secondly, your podcast without a transcript will not appear in search results because search engine crawler bots can only read text, not hear audio.
