Deezer is an app that has channels for music and podcasting and they announced on their blog that their ‘Podcast’ tab is now available in Asia, Africa, and Oceania*. Their Podcast tab was previously called “Shows”.
The new tab will tailer podcast recommendations to the listener and they offer “podcasts by duration” that allow the listener to choose a podcast that fits the amount of time they have to listen.
“Our listeners love podcasts and we’ve had a sevenfold increase in monthly podcast users since 2017. Now we’re expanding the offering to users in Asia, Africa, and Oceania. We expect more fans around the world to turn to podcasts at home or on-the-go. Our country selector option also makes it possible to switch your location and listen to any local podcast in its native language,” said Frédéric Antelme, Deezer’s VP of Content.
The expanded list of countries include Australia, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Senegal, Singapore, and South Africa.
