NBC News is reporting that lawyers for Adnan Syed, who’s case was chronicled in “Serial,” are asking the Supreme Court to step into the case.
It was back in 2014 that “Serial” covered Syed’s case which led to additional court proceedings.
Syed is serving a life sentence after he was convicted of killing 17-year-old Hae Min Lee nine years ago. Syed claims his lawyer violated his constitutional rights by failing to investigate an alibi witness.
The podcast In The Dark, which is covering the case of Curtis Flowers, also made it to The Supreme Court where Flowers’ conviction was overturned. The case presented to the court included reporting from the podcast.
