Ashleigh Sayer-Frederick and Tabitha LaForce are hosts of the Womens Cooperastive Podcast. Their mission is to build a community of women that support and colloborate together to strengthen each other.
The two hosts have are giving a young grandmother who is raising five grandchildren on her own some much deserved holiday pampering, according to the local newspaper in Idaho..
As the paper points out Ashleigh and Tabitha challenged their listeners “to nominate inspirational single mothers, promising to “spoil” the winner as a holiday surprise. They received six nominations, and decided the stories were so moving they’ve decided to give large baskets, filled with contributions from listeners and local businesses, to the five nominees who weren’t chosen.
Ashleigh tells the newspaper they decided to help single moms at Christmas because they know being a single mom is very hard. “This mom especially was carrying the heaviest burden. She works at a grocery store. Her son died recently, and she’s been raising his five children.”
Listeners sponsored each of the grandchildren, agreeing to donate $50 to buy an assigned child Christmas surprises.
Ashleigh said the magnitude of support has been just overwhelming.
