Saturday Night Live executives say they did not know comedian Shane Gillis made offensive remarks on his podcast before hiring him. Yesterday, before even setting a foot on an SNL stage as a new cast member, Gillis was fired.
Once he was hired clips from _Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcas_t were quickly circulated on social media. Gillis who co-hosts with fellow comedian Matt McCusker makes fun of Chinese accents during on the podcast. SNL wanted none of that and quickly decided they had made a bad hire.
