C13Originals from Cadence13, an Audacy company, say they’ve tapped Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Jon Meacham to create a slate of audio documentaries and series centered around history called Shining City Audio.
Meachem previously worked with them on Hope, Through History—a series exploring pivotal moments of crisis in American history and how they shaped the nation—and It Was Said, a series focused on some of the most important, impactful, and relevant speeches in history.
His initial series for them, Fate of Fact, is a limited-run series looking at disinformation in the news and how it affects the landscape. Season One of _Fate of Fact _will launch on April 28, 2021, and the trailer is available here.
Also under the Shining City Audio imprint history professor Dr. Eddie S. Glaude Jr. will work on History is Us, a documentary podcast franchise written and narrated by Glaude on which he’ll explore how American history, so indelibly shaped by race, haunts us, and how our past failures—and refusals to admit them—continue to shape the way we live our lives today.
Meachem will also write a sports documentary series called It Was Said which will be narrated by legendary NBA coach Doc Rivers, highlighting some of the most important and timeless speeches in sports history.
