Each week, Gimlet cofounder Alex Blumberg has candid conversations with people about what they’ve learned from their successes and challenges on his podcast Without Fail. Monday’s episode features Gretchen Carlson, the longtime Fox & Friends co-host who set off shockwaves in 2016 when she filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment against Fox News chairman Roger Ailes. Two weeks later, Ales was ousted from the network, but it had taken years of enduring abusive behavior before she spoke out.

Throughout the interview Carlson takes listeners through the trajectory of her career, from competing for Miss America to jumpstarting her journalism career at the local level before landing at CBS News in New York City, followed by the jump to Fox News. She talks about the harassment she faced at Fox News before being let go in 2016, which ultimately led to her to what she says was the most difficult decision of her life.
