“Russian Resistance” is an English-language podcast about the Russian anti-war movement. Paper Media says it is banned by Russian authorities.

According to Paper Media, “We have been writing about the local communities, business and initiatives for 10 years. As independent media we’ve been reporting on the Russian-Ukrainian war since the day it started. And despite the government-forced censorship, we provided the information from the most diverse and trustworthy sources we could find. Now, as our website was blocked by the authorities and all the journalists might face up to 15 years in prison, we were forced to leave Russia to save our team.”

Paper Media, that had been based in St. Petersburg, hopes by using the podcast they can show that the Russian anti-war movement actually exists and share the voices of those who support it. The podcast focuses on a number of questions: How does the state propaganda work in Russia today? Why don’t we see mass protests? And what does Russian resistance look like?
