ART19 has a new exclusive ad sales partnership with A Cup of Tea and a Chat with Allie and Bean, the podcast from former Southern California radio hosts Gene “Bean” Baxter and Allie Mac Kay.
Though previously available exclusively to paying Patreon subscribers, the show will now offer a “Best Of” feed entirely for free through their exclusive partnership with ART19.
“These are dark times, so we figured it was time to make the show available to everyone who needs a little light in their day,” said Allie Mac Kay, co-host. “ART19 is putting together an all-star team of comedians, and we’re excited to join this band of Misfit Toys.”
Mac Kay and Baxter met on the KROQ hit The Kevin and Bean Show, where Baxter was the star and co-host for over thirty years. Baxter was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2014, the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2019, and had just retired in his native England when his favorite colleague Mac Kay convinced him to start a podcast instead.
Mac Kay herself has traveled the US throughout her twenty year broadcast career, including working on KTLA Morning News prior to joining The Kevin and Bean Show, and later Kevin in the Mornings with Allie and Jensen. Their friendship and rapport — both on and off mic — makes every episode feel like chatting with old friends in a pre-Covid cafe.
