Long Shadow: 9/11’s Lingering Questions is a new podcast from Long Lead, hosted by the author of the book The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11, Garrett Graff.
A press release about the show says the eight-episode series explores the enduring mysteries and lingering questions surrounding 9/11 and the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
The first episode, which examines the question “Why weren’t more people rescued from the Twin Towers?” is available now.
“I’ve spent most of the two decades since 9/11 covering the legacy of that tragic day. September 11th and how it changed our world is the most important story of our modern age—the hinge on which so much changed. And yet as we approach the 20th anniversary of 9/11, we’re seeing this event slip from memory to history. A quarter of all Americans are too young to remember it,” says Garrett Graff. “I’ve spent the past year trying to retell its story and explain the answer to the lingering questions I often get when speaking about 9/11 to audiences across the country. LONG SHADOW is my attempt to make sense of what we know—and don’t know—about 9/11 for the podcast generation.”
