TJ Taormina, host of the syndicated “The TJ Show” and former longtime Elvis Duran personality, has a budding star in the family. TJ’s 8-year-old daughter, Charlee Jane, has won a Gracie Award for Podcast Host in the Digital Media Student category.

Charlee is the youngest person to ever receive a Gracie Award, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation.

Over a year ago, Charlee told her family she “wants to be a podcast host when she grows up.” Her school schedule allows her to take a choice elective class each year. In last year’s class, she studied podcasting, recording, voice over, and hosted a podcast with her little sister Willa called “Car Company with Charlee & Willa”.

Her dad, TJ, helped produce the podcast. The show is for kids bored in the backseat of their parent’s car. The episode that won is called “Charlee Traps a Parent”.

When Charlee learned she won, she said, “I can’t believe I get to have a real trophy.”

Congratulations, as I just spoke to the 6th/7th/8th grade students at Gateway Charter School in Wilmington, Delaware, on the “Podcast Pathway for Students” - wish I had seen this article earlier.
