As we continue to hear from podcast industry experts and executives about 2020 and 2021, we check in with Triton Digital CEO Neal Shore today, who says the last year was good for the medium.
“Overall…2020 has been dynamic for the podcast industry. The global library of podcast content expanded exponentially. New creation and distribution platforms took shape around the world, as did enhanced sharing and promotional tools within them. Publishers produced an exceptional amount of content, which created more opportunities for the increasing number of Advertisers that are adding podcasts to their media plans. I believe that 2021 will continue to experience incredible growth for the podcast industry at large, with a mix of M&A activity, even more content, and a large increase in podcast advertising, both programmatic and direct.”
“And for the biggest story of 2020…the M&A activity in the space was fantastic, not only for the individual companies participating, but also the awareness and validation that the marketplace experienced as a result.”
