2019 Saw 800 New Podcasts Per Day

That’s was Chartable is reporting after it says there were 294,736 new podcasts in Apple Podcasts in 2019 and 16 million episodes. That’s a 35% increase in new shows and a nearly 60% increase in new episodes from 2018. 800 podcasts per day translates to one every two minutes.

At the end of 2019 Chartable’s Dave Zohrob to look at the best podcasts of the year in a few different ways: the most-reviewed podcasts on Apple Podcasts, podcasts that spent the most time at the top of the charts in the US and globally, and critics’ best-of lists. The top five podcasts in the United States in 2019, according to Chartable’s formula were Joe Rogan, Crime Junkie, The Daily, My Favorite Murder and Dr. Death.
